Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. They provide local residents and surrounding anchor institutions with vital services, create jobs where they’re needed most, and generate wealth for the betterment of their respective communities.
ICIC has identified and celebrated the 100 fastest-growing businesses in under-resourced communities across the nation since 1999. Inner City 100 (IC100) awards are published annually and Nyla Technology Solutions, a woman-owned, HUBZone and 8(a) certified small business that provides full-stack, big-data, cloud-architecture software systems engineering and data science, has been awarded ICIC’s 100 Fastest Growing Inner City Business for 2020.
Nyla is headquartered in the heart of Baltimore and actively hires locally and has principally served as a government contractor with a particular focus on the United States Department of Defense (DOD), where work must be done only on-site at designated locations. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and employees’ desire to work from home, Nyla is pivoting to diversify its customer base, and also gives all employees eight hours a year to volunteer and raise money for a city public school each year.
